Dear Sunbelt participants,
We are looking very much forward to having you here in Hamburg in about one week. As you may know, Sunbelt 2013 takes place in the middle of the city and in the historic buildings of the university. We assume that some of you might be interested to learn a bit more about the place and have arranged a two hour tour across the campus. The tour will be given by the former head of the research institute that studies the university history, Eckart Krause. It focuses on two themes: its foundation as the first German university established by a democratically-elected city council (and not by the king) and its role between 1933 and 1945 during the National Socialist dictatorship.
The tour is available for about 20 people and will take place on Wednesday, 22nd between 6-8 p.m. Meeting point is the conference registration desk. I can highly recommend it.
To take part, you need to sign up under ife@uni-hamburg.de. In case more people are interested only the first 20 can be considered.
Best regards,
Michael Schnegg
